For Port Canaveral, "Another Year of Sun"

Port Canaveral announced late last week that Norwegian Cruise Line has extended its commitment to homeport Norwegian Sun seasonally in Central Florida through April 2012. Norwegian Sun will sail from Port Canaveral on Saturdays from Oct 2010 to April 2011 on 7-day cruises that alternate between the Eastern Caribbean (Nassau, Bahamas; St. Thomas and Philipsburg St. Maarten) and Western Caribbean (Cozumel, Mexico; Santo Tomás de Castilla, Guatemala; Belize City, Belize and Key West, Florida). The alternating itineraries make it easy to create a special 14-day cruise getaway package.

Port Canaveral boasts that passengers can enjoy "Freestyle Cruising" at its best from the Florida seaport that's free of big-city congestion but easy to reach—surrounded by three international airports and only 15 driving minutes east of I-95 (provided you don't run into a traffic jam or make a detour to stop at Ron Jon's Surf Shop). Port Canaveral gets a relaxed vacation off to a great start with 24/7 secured and lighted parking close to its ships, a smooth pre-boarding experience and an abundance of close-by destinations—such as Kennedy Space Center, airboat rides, nature preserves, beaches, and the Orlando attractions. And, it's not an idle boast. Port Canaveral is a great embarkation port.
