Malt Shop Memories Cruise—A Lasting Memory

Dance Like a Vandella
One of the beauties of taking a cruise, especially one like the Malt Shop Memories Cruise is that unexpected events sometimes happen that make the voyage so memorable.

On this year’s cruise aboard Eurodam we were fortunate to meet one of the most delightful women on board. Lois Reeves Jackson is her name, but you might recognize her as Martha Reeves’ sister—she’s one of the Vandellas.

When we first ran across one another Lois was teaching Brenda Lee’s daughter and her friends how to dance like a Vandella.

After chatting for hours, Mel convinced Lois that she’d have a good time going ashore with us in Grand Cayman. We shopped, had lunch, shopped some more and over the course of the day we became family.

Cruise Diva’s Blog this week is dedicated to Lois—my “twin” sister who is exactly my age and with whom I have a lot in common. Mel and I hope our paths cross again someday with hers—meeting Lois was a gift and we’ll never forget her brilliant smile and sparkling personality.
